The role explained

More than an address on the label

A Responsible Person is the designated person or legal entity responsible for ensuring a cosmetic product meets the applicable market requirements. Their duties include safety documentation, product information, labelling and required notifications.

Great Britain requires a UK-established Responsible Person; the EU requires one established in the EU. Northern Ireland follows a different framework. We review your intended markets and agree the appropriate appointment and responsibilities in writing.

What we do

Support for your market compliance responsibilities

The service starts with a review of your products, evidence and target markets—not an automatic approval.

    Responsible Person Appointment

Discuss the appropriate market-specific appointment, written mandate and agreed service responsibilities.

  • Product file documents

    Product Information File

Coordinate product records, including the CPSR and supporting manufacturing and claim evidence.

  • Perfume products and packaging

    Labelling Review

Review the information required on your product, including the Responsible Person details and relevant market requirements.

  • Products prepared for market

    Market Notification Support

Support the required SCPN or CPNP notification once the necessary product information is in place.

  • Fragrance range packaging

    Ongoing Product Changes

Coordinate review when formulations, labels or product information change during the agreed appointment.

  • Compliance correspondence documents

    Compliance Communication

Agree how regulatory enquiries, product concerns and corrective actions are handled within the service scope.
